Enrollment

Day Nursery accepts children from ages 16 months to 4th grade. Enrollment at Day Nursery is an ongoing process and applications are accepted year round. Day Nursery will not permit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, handicap, ancestry, age, national origin, gender, or limited English proficiency in any aspect of service delivery to eligible beneficiaries, and will apply the principles of equal opportunity in all matters of employment and contractual agreements. Acceptance into our program is only limited by space availability and completion of all necessary paperwork.

Families are required to complete a pre-visit to the center prior to enrollment of the child. During this visit, new families will tour the center, speak with the child’s teacher, and spend time in the appropriate classroom. This gives the family an opportunity to view the classroom interaction, and ask any questions they may have regarding the classroom, curriculum, schedules or any special needs.

Parents/guardians can then place their child on the waiting list. Waiting lists are routinely updated, checked, and revised to assist parents/guardians in placement of their child(ren). Once an opening becomes available in the child’s classroom, parents/guardians will be informed and will then begin the enrollment process, which is as follows:

  1. Parents/guardians will schedule an intake appointment, during which all necessary paperwork is completed, with the exception of the Child Health Assessment form, which must be filled out by the child’s primary health care provider within 30 days of enrollment.
  2. Parents should schedule several small visits to the center with the child so that the child can become acquainted with the teachers and the other children prior to their start date.
  3. Once all of the necessary paperwork is completed and returned to Day Nursery, the information can be stored in the ProCare Center Management System. Each parent/guardian, emergency contact and authorized pick-up person will be given their unique authorized ID codes, using a fingerprint scan via a secure touch screen system.
